"I arrive at the practice at 6:45 am on the 1st day of the month. I am headed to the printer to check over the month end reports of the previous month’s activity……No documents in the printer.
After checking into any possible printing problems, I find out that the Practice Management Software (PMS) froze up during the automated unattended month end closing. I reboot the server; the PMS comes back up thinking it had done the month end processing already. However, the month end totals were not displaying correctly.
I now am faced with a dilemma. Do I let the new month’s activity go forward and constantly deal with inaccurate information, or do I call the PMS support number to try to have a backup copy of the data base from the night before installed to rerun the month end reports. I know from previous history that PMS software support will eventually fix the problem. However, it will take hours of my time to get to the right level of support and it may take the whole day to get the problem resolved. In the meantime, my practice will need to move forward with today’s activity. Clients are already waiting in the parking lot for the doors to open.
I called DVMConnexx. They immediately used their remote support capabilities and logged on to the server. They assessed the problem, moved a backup in place, and restarted the month end processing. This process took about 30 minutes. I was able to start on with the practice opening with very little disruption. I did not have to do anything. Most people on the other end of the line do not understand the urgency of the situation. As a result, the process can take hours and days instead of minutes to resolve an issue. They don’t realize how much money is being lost when the PMS is down not to mention how it erodes our confidence in computers in general.
This is just one example of the type of service DVMConnexx provides. I highly recommend the company and their services."
